TikTok LIVE Studio setup guide

Add entrance effects: source, canvas size, audio and testing

Updated 2026-10-23 · Stable app 0.1.35

Before you start

  • Open Live Entrance and TikTok LIVE Studio on the same Windows PC. Confirm that the effects app has a valid license.
  • Sign in to LIVE Studio with the TikTok account you will use. Your current version and account must offer scenes and a link or web source. Names and available features may vary.
  • Have headphones ready for audio checks. You can test local effects before going live.

You can read on a phone; configure the apps on your streaming PC. Open links in Chrome or Edge, not the WeChat in-app browser.

STEP 01

Open Live Entrance and keep it running

Open Live Entrance, confirm your license, choose your effects and welcome speech, then click Save settings.

Keep the app open. Run one copy on this PC to avoid a conflict on local port 17891. You do not need to open OBS for this LIVE Studio setup.

ConfirmLive Entrance is running without license or local-service errors.
STEP 02

Add a web source to your live scene

Select the scene you will use in LIVE Studio and open Add source.

Look for Link or the web-page source offered by your version. Name it Live Entrance. Labels can vary; if no such source is available, use the troubleshooting section below.

ConfirmThe source settings show a field for a URL.
STEP 03

Paste the complete source URL

Paste the entire address below into the source URL field. Keep #tiktok.studio at the end, then confirm or save.

127.0.0.1 means this PC, so Live Entrance and LIVE Studio must run on the same computer. Keep http; do not change it to https or substitute the OBS WebSocket port.

ConfirmThe URL includes :17891, /overlay/screen-1 and #tiktok.studio, with no extra spaces.
STEP 04

Match the canvas size and place the source above the camera

Set width W and height H for your scene: W 1080, H 1920 for portrait; W 1920, H 1080 for landscape. If your canvas uses another resolution, match that actual size.

Place the source above the camera and background, make it visible, and position the complete effect inside the canvas. Preserve its proportions when scaling so it is not stretched or cropped.

ConfirmThe source is visible above the camera, and width and height match the scene orientation.
STEP 05

Test the effect and audio

In Live Entrance, click Test entrance on the right. Check the animation, name and avatar in LIVE Studio. A transparent, empty source is normal while no effect is playing.

Check the source settings and LIVE Studio audio mixer for mute and volume. If your version offers local recording, record a short test and play it back to check music and welcome speech. Avoid capturing the same effect through both the web source and desktop audio.

ConfirmThe full effect plays and audio is heard once. Headphone playback alone does not confirm the stream output; check the source level and test result too.
STEP 06

Save, then connect to the real live room

If you changed effect or speech settings during testing, click Save settings again. Review the whole scene and mobile preview in LIVE Studio, when available.

When ready, start your live stream as usual. In Live Entrance, enter the TikTok account ID that is actually live and click Connect to chat. Confirm the connection, then check an eligible real viewer entrance.

ConfirmThe account is correct, chat is connected, and a real entrance appears in LIVE Studio.

Troubleshooting

The source is empty

Click Test entrance first to rule out normal transparent standby. Confirm that Live Entrance is running, the source is visible above the camera, and the full URL is correct. You can also open the source URL in Chrome or Edge on the same PC to check that it loads; close that test tab afterward.

There is no Link or web source

Confirm that you are using the TikTok LIVE Studio desktop app and the intended scene. Check the source list and official updates or help for your version. An OBS WebSocket password or a changed URL cannot enable a feature that your account or version does not offer.

The animation plays without sound

Check source mute and volume in LIVE Studio, the Windows volume mixer, and output volume in Live Entrance. If only welcome speech is missing, test the Windows voice in Live Entrance and check the event's speech option before testing the entrance again.

Audio repeats or echoes

Look for duplicate sources or simultaneous capture through the web source and desktop audio. With headphones, temporarily mute the related inputs one at a time to find the duplicate path. Keep the intended path and test again.

The effect is oversized, cropped or stretched

Check width W and height H: portrait is 1080 × 1920; landscape is 1920 × 1080. Match your actual canvas and preserve proportions. If you use dual layout, check effect size and position in both layouts.

Old effects remain after an update

Confirm that the updated Live Entrance app is running. Refresh the web source in LIVE Studio, reopen its settings to verify the URL if necessary, then click Test entrance again.
